Super Fun Happy Slide

We have been busy working on our new EP which is going to be called 'Super Fun Happy Slide'.  The tracks are all recorded and we are just finishing up on the mixing of them before the mastering process starts this weekend.  We are extremely happy with how it is sounding and is a big improvement on our previous release 'The DEMOlition EP' for a start the previous EP was recording in mono where as this is stereo and makes all the difference.  It still retains our lo-fi sound but with better production values on it. The track listing is as follows:

HALF THE MAN
The music to this was written a while ago and did have some lyrics, we enough played it live a few times but was never very happy with them, so we re-wrote them. Now it is one of our favourite songs, a real stomper of a tune, one to head bang to. But before it gets to that the EP fades in with a gentle instrumental track (that also plays out at the end, bookending the EP) before surging into the energetic opener, which is Soundgarden sounding.

IT'S NOT THE SAME
This previously appeared on 'The DEMOlition EP' but we have rerecorded it to take into account we now have Mike on drums and the fact we have better recording equipment. The production work on this is so much better than the previous version.  Again it is another heavy tune, kind of reminiscent of Dinosaur Jr.

TOWN OF THE DOGS
We have been playing this one live for a while but have never gotten around to recording it until now.  It is about living in Medway and the hassles we face just trying to walk down Chatham High Street. Instead of being an aggressive affair it takes a more somber route.

DRAGONFLY
This song starts off fairly gentle before working its way up to a heavier chorus.  Lyrically it could be about people that you thought were there for you but you realise are poison friends, doing everything they can to bring you down.  Spreading lies and hate rather than friendship.

DON'T FUCK WITH ME
This is another one that was included on 'The DEMOlition EP' and rerecorded for the same reason as It's Not the Same.  A Hole/Babes in Toyland sounding Riot Grrrl song, I think the title sums up it's meaning.

MEMORIES
Starting with the most amazing bass line before building up and up, this is always a joy to play live and goes down well with the crowd.  Does it have deep and meaningful lyrics about some spiritual journey? We shall let the listeners decide.

BITCH IN ME
The last of the rerecorded songs that previously appeared on 'The DEMOlition EP' this is such a better version of the song, with an extended outro.  This is the fan favourite live so had to be rerecorded in all its glory and included on this EP.

TERRAPIN
So what's a song called Terrapin sound like? You will just have to listen to the EP and find out. It as a weird ABABCCCC song structure with the chorus only played towards the end of the song. This song surges into the instrumental outro that ends the EP.

We have had a great time recording this and can not wait for you to listen to it.  We are playing a charity gig on the 1st March at Coopers Bar, Chatham and will be giving out copies of it then for free just for that night.  After that it will be put on our BandCamp page for download and on our Big Cartel page if you want a physical CD version.
